The 200 excuses on this site — each headline and the explanation that follows it — are original literary works, written for this project and first published here on 20 August 2026. They are protected by copyright individually and as a compilation. The selection, the arrangement, and the register they are written in are part of the protected work, not incidental to it.

What you may do

Read them. Enjoy them. Send someone the link. Quote a single excuse in a post, a message, or a group chat with visible attribution to blameway.com. Use the Copy link button, which is there precisely so that sharing is easy and points home.

What requires written permission

• Reproducing the text, in whole or in part, on another website, application, social media account, feed, bot, or newsletter.
• Printing it on merchandise, packaging, signage, or any other physical product. Blameway merchandise is sold only through the Blameway pro shop.
• Including it in a dataset, corpus, prompt library, or any collection made available to others.
• Publishing a paraphrase or a lightly reworded version of it.
• Presenting any of it as your own work, with or without alteration.

The code, the design, the name

The same reservation covers the source of this site, the broadcast interface, the shot tracer and its invented telemetry, the visual design, the image assets, and the Blameway name and marks.

All rights to text and data mining are expressly reserved, including for the training or fine-tuning of machine-learning or generative models, pursuant to Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and any equivalent provision elsewhere. This reservation is declared in machine-readable form on every page of this site. Indexing by general-purpose search engines, for the sole purpose of linking people here, is not restricted by this paragraph.

The telemetry is invented

Carry, offline, spin, lie, and the fault-of-player reading are fiction, generated for effect. Nothing on this site is advice, measurement, or a statement of fact about any real player, course, committee, or event. Any resemblance to a ruling you have actually received is a coincidence you are welcome to enjoy.
